Liverpool City Council and Civica honoured for ‘Best Cloud Transformation in the Pandemic’

  • Civica’s partnership with six NHS Trusts was also highly commended in the 'Most Innovative use of Data in the Cloud' category

Civica, a global leader in smart software, has won ‘Best Cloud Transformation in the Pandemic’ at the 2021 Computing Cloud Excellence Awards.

At a live awards ceremony in London, the company picked up the award with Liverpool City Council for using the cloud to lead the city’s response against COVID-19 by connecting vital support services to those in need. Civica also celebrated a Highly Commended accolade in the ‘Most Innovative use of Data’ category for its partnership with six NHS Trusts, including North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

In the ‘Best Cloud Transformation in the Pandemic’ category, Civica and Liverpool City Council were shortlisted alongside other leading cloud software providers including Kainos and IBM. The judges praised the project as having a huge impact on people’s wellbeing and served as an excellent blueprint for others.

At the height of the pandemic last April, Civica and its Community Helper cloud software, helped the council deliver essential services to vulnerable citizens in the local community. Up and running in just three weeks, the solution streamlined the council’s support processes by 88% and had a dramatic impact in the city and the delivery of COVID-19 crisis support to residents.

In the Highly Commended category, Civica partnered with six leading NHS Trusts to use innovative AI cloud technologies to combat unwarranted variation by identifying costs savings opportunities of £40m, while also improving healthcare delivery.

Civica’s partnership with Belfast City Airport was also shortlisted in the ‘Most Innovative Cloud Product or Service – Edge Computing’ for using innovative IoT cloud software to improve both passenger safety and their experience. While Civica’s Cx Regulatory Services cloud software was also shortlisted in the ‘Best Cloud Automation Solution for heling councils improve services and keep communities safe.
